For a long time, we looked at plans and tried to imagine the life that would eventually fill them. A line on a drawing would become a path. A rectangle would become a window. A terrace would become the place where someone might spend an hour doing absolutely nothing.

Now, imagination has less work to do.
You can walk through a house and see where the morning light falls. You can step onto a terrace and understand why it faces that particular piece of landscape. You can look across the park and, for a moment, forget how much work went into creating what is in front of you.

That may be one of the quiet pleasures of creating a destination from the ground up. At some point, you stop seeing only what has been built. You begin to see what might happen there.
A late breakfast with nowhere else to be. Two glasses left on a terrace after sunset. The relief of taking off your shoes after a long walk. The decision to stay in the water for another ten minutes because the air has turned cold and getting out suddenly seems like a terrible idea. Small things.
The kind that rarely make it into travel plans, yet somehow become the parts we remember.

One of those small moments that follows you home and, somehow, makes you want to come back.
